Born as a peasant village, then it became an elegant country estate and subsequently a noble residence up to the ownership of the Terrosi-Vagnoli counts. In 2012 Dievole was acquired by the Bulgheroni <\/strong>family who has been able to combine the prestigious past of the estate with the uniqueness of this special territory, rich in vineyards<\/strong> and olive groves<\/strong>. In the historic villa and in the adjacent buildings, they have given life to a wine resort <\/strong>boasting two panoramic swimming pools<\/strong> overlooking the vineyards, the Novecento Restaurant<\/strong>, also open to the public by reservation, and the D’Wine Club<\/strong> where you can discover all the products of the winery.<\/p>\n\n\n In Tuscany, beauty is everywhere: in the land, in the traditions, in the culture…Dievole’s experiences are born precisely to give our guests the opportunity to discover it.<\/p>\n(Silvia Chiantini, Director)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The first trace of Dievole’s existence is found in an ancient parchment from 1090 <\/strong>preserved in the State Archives of Siena. It tells that, in May of the same year, the abbot of the Benedictine monastery of Sant’Eugenio, leased a vineyard in the “divine valley”<\/strong> for “two capons, three loaves and six good silver coins”: the name Dievole<\/strong> it is, in fact, traced back to the expression “God wills”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today the wine resort includes 23 deluxe<\/strong>, prestige <\/strong>and suite rooms<\/strong> and 8 apartments<\/strong> distributed in the various buildings of the estate, each characterized by a particular style that reinterprets its mood. From the olive trees and the green palette of Casa Olivo, to the floral motifs and shades of blue of the Dievolino suite, up to the Limonaia room, where citrus fruits and warm tones are the protagonists.<\/p>\n\n\n The result is a pleasant combination of Florentine style<\/strong> with a more international shabby<\/strong> taste that also reflects the origins of the property. Many authentic materials have been preserved in the structure, such as the beautiful Tuscan terracotta floor<\/strong> and the original Carrara marble<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the various rooms, several unique antique pieces and highly valuable accessories stand out such as, for example, the Bronzetto lamps<\/strong> combined with hand-painted English Chelsea Textiles<\/strong> fabrics and 13th-century wooden frames.<\/p>\n\n\n The estate, where Sangiovese is mainly grown, can rely on 152 hectares <\/strong>of organically managed vineyards and many different terroirs <\/em>enhanced through the various processes in the cellar: from the fermentation of the grapes that take place in raw cement tulips<\/em>, with native yeasts, to the aging in large untoasted oak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For guests, it is possible to organize guided tours<\/strong>, romantic picnics<\/strong> and ad hoc wine tastings, while members of the exclusive D’Wine Club<\/strong>, dedicated to the most loyal customers, have a private space at their disposal where, in special cellars, they can conserve their favorite vintages to sip during the stay.<\/p>\n\n\n On the ground floor of the noble villa we find the Novecento Restaurant<\/strong>, the realm of chef Monika Filipinska<\/strong> who offers her guests authentic taste experiences, reinterpreting traditional dishes with great class and creativity. The seasonality of the raw materials, rigorously selected by producers with a short supply chain, and the use of wild herbs and wildflowers make each recipe a poem <\/strong>on a plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also open to the public by reservation, the restaurant is the perfect stop to unwind after taking a walk along the Natural Path<\/strong>, <\/strong>that winds through the vineyards, woods and olive groves of the property, or the special personal<\/strong> training course<\/strong> immersed in nature organized by Dievole’s personnel for the well-being of both body and mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the 19th century, Count Giulio Terrosi-Vagnoli gave the estate to his future wife Ildegonda Camaiori, the last noblewoman of Dievole. We owe her a precious document that has come down to our times intact: the Dievole Sales Book.
