With an intimate indoor, an outdoor<\/strong> area surrounded by greenery and a panoramic terrace<\/strong> in the shade of a centenary mulberry tree, the Osteria changes its set in every season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The spaces are characterized by a sober<\/strong> and elegant charm that goes well with the rustic atmosphere of the surrounding context. The Vienna straw seats, the modular tables in wood and marble, as well as the essential mise en place<\/strong> recall the tones of stone and wood declined in a palette of natural colors. Whilst on the walls we find antique black and white photos depicting moments of life in the old village and family memories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n The cuisine<\/strong> is based on the best raw materials <\/strong>both from the territory and the Mazzei estate, from the vegetables to the game <\/strong>that grows free in the surrounding woods. The restaurant offers \u00e0 la carte <\/em>lunch and dinner menu and a tasting menu<\/strong> that includes the chef’s signature dishes, from pheasant<\/strong> nuggets “alla cacciatora” to rabbit roll with fricassee<\/em> mousse and bitter herb salad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To accompany the delicacies on the menu, there is an extensive wine list <\/strong>boasting the best of Castello di Fonterutoli’s production, such as its most famous wines of rare vintages, by the glass in bottles or even in magnum format.<\/p>\n\n\n At the Osteria it is also possible to taste the products of the other family estates, from Belguardo <\/strong>in Maremma to Zisola<\/strong> in Sicily, to immerse yourself in the soul of these lands and let be conquered by a history spanning almost six hundred years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the Second World War, Fonterutoli, like the whole Val d’Elsa area, suffered heavy bombings as the Allies advanced and the Germans withdrew.
