On the Bengodi hill, between the Uccellina park and the Orbetello lagoons populated by flamingos, Villa Talamo is a corner of paradise where you can enjoy a holiday of pure relaxation, enjoying an extraordinary view of the sea that embraces the entire gulf of Talamone.
Nestled between maritime pines and large palm trees, Villa Talamo embodies the quintessence of privacy and authentic elegance. With its large white facade overlooking the sea, it is one of the very rare historic buildings between Punta Ala and the Argentario, which has always served as the holiday home of the families who have lived there over the years.
A magical place, owned by the Zampolli family, Egidio and Alessandra, with their children Massimiliano, Michelangelo and Manuela, who have spent endless vacation seasons here, enjoying its breathtaking view, exceptional climate and an area rich in natural beauties and beaches; now available to anyone who wish to enjoy this part of the Tuscan coast.
After a few years of management as a boutique B&B, having achieved a truly excellent standard of service, the family decided, in fact, to rent the villa entirely to give a truly exclusive experience to its guests.
Villa Talamo has always been our home and we would like our guests to experience it just like we did, giving them the same emotions that made us truly love this place.
(Massimiliano Zampolli)
The origins of the building seem to date back to around 1730, before the Leopoldine reform. It is one of the oldest structures in the area which, in the past, was characterized by small rural villages and farms, many of which were later converted into holiday homes. In fact, the first modern villas were built only after the reclamations at the beginning of the 20th century, and still today characterize Punta Ala, Rocca a Mare and the Argentario.
The beautiful facade of the villa stands out in the surrounding Mediterranean bush and conceals highly charming interiors ranging from the living area on the ground floor to the two upper floors with 8 bedrooms and a master apartment with a sitting room and 2 other bedrooms. The interior design of the rooms, each one different from the other, was followed by the architects Piero Castellini Baldissera and Paola Orsi who also oversaw the restyling of the large living area under the guidance of Manuela.
Here, among the welcoming lounges that mix family objects and memories of exotic travels, you can breathe the authentic atmosphere of a Tuscan country house. The real coup de théâtre is the extraordinary view enjoyed from the garden which, like a terrace overlooking the sea, embraces the entire gulf, from the Talamone fortress to Montecristo, from Giglio to the Argentario and which, on the clearest days, even reveals Corsica.
A little further down, a suggestive infinity pool overlooking the sea, complete with a bar area, allows guests to experience the villa from morning to night. In addition to offering an exclusive concierge service, dedicated to making its guests discover the best of rural Maremma and the Tuscan archipelago, the rental of Villa Talamo includes about 10 service personnel ready to take care of any need.
From breakfasts to dinners to tastings in the villa, such as for example the vertical of the prestigious Mazzei wines, it is possible to build a tailor-made program based on preferences and the seasons to discover a corner of Tuscany which, thanks to its beauties and climate gentle, is capable of giving wonderful experiences from summer to winter.
The Secret
Talamone, in addition to its Etruscan origins, was a fundamental stage in the enterprise of Giuseppe Garibaldi and his Thousand who in 1860 stopped right here to stock up on water and weapons but, above all, to disembark 313 “garibaldini” who would soon march on Rome to complete the unification of Italy.
