In Siena, inside an ancient medieval tower, under the vaults of the Grand Hotel Continental – Starhotels Collection, there is the only cellar in the historic center where you can enjoy exclusive wine experiences surrounded by history.

In the basement of the five-star hotel, part of the Starhotels group, the SaporDivino cellar, a charming restaurant and lounge bar located inside the Continental courtyard, is a cradle for connoisseurs of bien boire, curious and passionate about the “nectar of the gods”.

In its 3 rooms, which house around 3000 labels including the best wines from Tuscany and beyond, it is possible to organize tastings upon reservation for all palates and all needs, including verticals of labels or special vintages.

The very charming environment was created from an ancient storage room refined by a beautiful vaulted ceiling and an intimate adjoining room located in the medieval tower adjacent to the building. Here, thanks to a play of ladders and wall-mounted bottle racks, various tasting corners have been created within the splendid original structure.

The cellar, which enjoys an extremely favorable natural microclimate for the conservation of wines, offers the possibility of drinking and purchasing as many as 400 labels and 60 cellars, 80% of which are Tuscan, plus a percentage of Italian and foreign wines.

In the 1200s room, surrounded by thick stone walls, original wine experiences come to life, accompanied by local delicacies and private dinners with tastings directed by the F&B Manager Gianluca Tozzi and enriched by the gourmet dishes of Sapordivino chef Luca Ciaffarafà.

Among precious bottles of Sassicaia, Brunello di Montalcino and reserves, we wander among the most particular terroirs of Tuscany to discover all the nuances of the famous regional productions, from structured reds to elegant rosés, to mineral whites from the vines closest to the sea.
