In Vicolo Santa Monaca, this delightful place was born in 2014 in the premises where, for 150 years, there was a historic bakery and point of reference of Santo Spirito, a cozy Oltrarno (beyond the Arno) district born after the expansion of the city center wanted by Ercole I d’Este at the end of the 15th century.

Taken over by the owners of Santo Bevitore, one of the most well-known and loved wine bistros in the Oltrarno area, it offers many types of food products – bread, focaccias, cecine (typical wrap made of chickpeas flour) and pizzas – to take-away or to eat-in and fill as desired.

Under the beautiful vaulted ceiling, the counter overflows with freshly baked sweet and savory delights, surrounded by wicker baskets and shelves full of products and textile accessories, such as the shopping bags made with scraps of colorful Indian silk saris.

The interior design mixes industrial details with vintage pieces, such as the iconic red Berkel. Among retro iron tables, wooden stools and demijohns used as flower vases, here it is possible to enjoy a breakfast, a lunch break or a truly delicious snack.

The menu, written daily on the large blackboard behind the counter, includes salads, quiches, bagels stuffed with fresh products, pizzas and, ça va sans dire, fragrant Florentine focaccias.

The selection of homemade desserts ranges from international proposals such as muffins, plumcakes, scones and brownies to yummy vegan cakes. During holidays, such as Epiphany, Christmas or Carnival, the offer is enriched with truly irresistible seasonal specialties and special desserts such as galettes de roi.
