In the ancient heart of Florence, among narrow streets dotted with shops that retain their medieval charm intact, is nestled an intimate boutique hotel that winks at the city’s glorious past with a contemporary glam touch.

4F Boutique Hotel is located in an early 20th-century building on the Lungarno, a short walk from the center of Florence, the beating heart of the Renaissance.

A new-concept place, designed as if it were a private home and focused on service excellence and design purity, born from an idea of three Florentine friends, Francesco, Simone and Stefano, coming from various complementary experiences ranging from architecture to design, from catering to hospitality.

We imagined giving life to a house in the heart of Florence where to host friends as well as curious travellers.

The 14 rooms of the boutique hotel have been conceived like a journey back in time: in fact, in each of them, colours, fabrics and objects evoke sweet memories and inspirations mainly from the 40s and 50s.

The suites, located on the fourth floor of the building, are curated by studio Flair, a city institution for bespoke interior design. Here the color palette changes, veering towards warm and relaxing tones such as deep blues, shades of green, ocher or brick tones that accompany bold plays of materials, from rattan carpets to wicker bed headboards, up to the choice of precious marbles in the bathrooms. The bouclé fabrics and all the furnishing elements are all unique pieces, made by local artisans, as are the curtains that frame the splendid view of the Lungarno.

Breakfast is served à-la-carte in the main living room, the heart of the house. Anderson, the pastry chef, is available from 8 to 10 to prepare pancakes, fruit salads and omelettes, cakes and croissants which are served with the beautiful petit dejeuner porcelain, with patterns of flowers, birds and gold, signed by the Florentine stylist Roberto Cavalli.

In the dining room, a small buffet is also set up where it is possible to taste the exquisite jams signed by Marco Colzani, the Brianza winemaker who has revolutionized the pastry world.

During the day, until 11 pm, it is also possible to order toasted sandwiches, sandwiches, cappuccinos, teas, herbal teas and infusions.

4F Boutique Hotel offers a cocktail bar with a wide selection of gins and local liqueurs to sip while relaxing while sitting on the comfortable armchairs in the living room, perhaps with the windows open to let in the breath of an unconventional, elegant and refined Florence.

The Secret

Walking along the internal stairs, it is possible to reach a real secret place, an almost whispered dream place, and certainly enchanted: the roof terrace. Surrounded by the masterpieces of Florence, the hills and green spaces, you can sit on the sofas embellished with cushions with black & white prints to enjoy a coffee or relax during the golden hour.
