Atto di Vito Mollica (FI)
Inside the extraordinary Courtyard of the Emperors of Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence, Atto restaurant is the new chapter in the prestigious Michelin-starred history of the Lucanian chef Vito Mollica, the heart and soul of the project.
Inside one of the most prestigious and noble palaces in the city, where illustrious people such as Folco Portinari, father of the famous Beatrice, Dante‘s muse, and the Grand Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici lived, chef Vito Mollica has found the perfect venue for his sophisticated fine dining project.
As if on a stage, immersed in the splendor of the Renaissance atmosphere and surrounded by trabeated columns, busts of emperors, original frescoes and precious collections of art and contemporary design, it is possible to live a truly spectacular gastronomic experience.
Whether it’s Cinta Senese cured meats or free-range hens, you always need to know the man behind the product, because there is no gourmet recipes without excellent raw materials.

Part of a larger project, born from the roots of Chic Nonna (Michelin star since its opening), Atto is the “evening side” of a gourmet project that animates Palazzo Portinari Salviati from morning to night. From Salotto Portinari Bar & Bistrot, perfect for a coffee, an elegant lunch break or an aperitif, to Eye Cocktail Bar, where you can relax for a drink, up to Sala Beatrice, the ideal location for a business lunch or an intimate private event.
Awarded with 2 Michelin stars, the first in 2014 with Il Palagio restaurant and the second in 2022 with Chic Nonna, chef Vito Mollica, with a past at the Four Seasons in Milan and two books dedicated to haute cuisine, is ambassador of Italian excellence all over the world.
Thanks to an exceptional kitchen brigade, including the Restaurant Chefs Rosario Bernardo and Paolo Acunto, chef Mollica interprets the best of the Tuscan tradition with an international twist, transforming each dish into a wonderful surprise both for the eyes and the palate.
Atto’s menu is based on the best seasonal raw materials, starting from the search for local niche producers, including country markets and suppliers who aim for quality and authenticity, fundamental aspects in the Chef’s philosophy. There is no shortage of international excellence, including white chicken from Valdarno, very long-matured patanegra and a special selection of oysters.
A project born to narrate Mollica’s philosophy in a transversal way, starting from the name Atto. An Italian word, meaning “act”, that speaks for the respect inherent in every choice and detail, from the valorisation of the territory to the care taken in the creation of each recipe to win over its guests with the most precious ingredient: the love for beauty in all its forms.
The Secret
The Courtyard of the Emperors, the oldest nucleus of Palazzo Portinari Salviati which takes its name from the dozens of busts of emperors embellishing the entablatures, is made up of five rooms frescoed by Alessandro Allori, one of the most important exponents of the Florentine sixteenth century, who painted here a beautiful pictorial cycle dedicated to the Stories of the Odyssey. The glass roof of the courtyard was created at the beginning of the 1920s by Francesco Mossmeyer.
